How To Dye Hair with Kool-Aid
Things you will need:
2-3 packets of Kool-Aid (Whatever color you want)
Water
A Pot
A cup or container
Rubber Gloves
An old towel
An old shirt
A hair tie (optional)
Vaseline (optional)
Steps
1.) So the first thing you'll want to do is decide what hair you want to be dyed. Popular choices are just dip dying the end of your hair, or doing that back so when you put up your hair you can see the color. Or you can do all of your hair, but it will take more time and be much harder. If you want, section off the hair you want to get dyed with a hair elastic.
Optional: Take some vaseline and rub it on your neck. This prevents the kool-aid from staining your skin.
2.) Take a pot and fill it with about one or two cups of water depending how thick your hair is. Put it on medium/high heat and once it starts boiling add the kool-aid. You can mix colors and add as much or as little color as you want depending on your hair thickness, color, etc. Once you disolve the kool-aid remove it from the heat.
3.) Pour the mixture into a cup or bowl of some sort. I would suggest tying a blanket around your neck. Then rest your head on the cup/bowl and immerse hair into mixture. You will probably want to sit down for this. Wait about 30 minutes. (I did around 20 and it turned out fine).
4.) Remove hair from mixture and turn on a faucet in a tub or sink. Then rinse your hair out (no shampoo!) until the water is clear. It will take a while!
5.) Wrap hair in a towel and wait for it to dry.
You should get a nice color. If it doesn't work, try adding more time, or more kool-aid. Don't wash hair with shampoo for 2 days, if you want the color to stay vibrant. It will fade in about two weeks.
My Results
So I added 2 packets of black cherry and one packet of grape kool-aid and I got a really nice red.
The pictures really don't do it justice. The real color looks like Ariana Grande's hair.
